Ernst Reinhold Schmidt Double Bass

This beautiful German double bass was made in Markneukirchen about 1900 by Ernst Reinhold Schmidt. He was a well-respected maker who ran a busy workshop producing fine violin family instruments and won several awards for his work. This example is one of the most beautifully made and varnished double basses we have had the pleasure of offering. It is in first-class condition and sounds even better than it looks. A rare double bass by this great maker that plays very easily and would be the dream of any player.
