This fine double bass was made in Mittenwald Bavaria ca 1740, we think surely by a member of the Kloz family of violinmakers. It dates from the first half of the 18th century and is quite a classic example of a sensibly sized busetto model bass. It would suit any genre from solo playing to full Symphony Orchestra.
It is in good condition and plays extremely well with a lovely big sound.
Come and have a look at this interesting Double Bass of German origin.
