The Thomas Martin Double Bass

Thomas Martin Double Bass is based on the great masters of bass making notably Vincenzo Panormo and Thomas Kennedy. I slightly adjusted the upper outline and tried to retain the classic character while making the instrument easily playable.

The finest mountain spruce and fir are used for the tables and the fittings are the very best we can get. The sides are in the classic style and the wood is carefully selected to match the back. We use the classic English 'Baker' style tuners unless otherwise requested and both mechanical and fingered low 'C' extensions are available upon request. The backs are made in both round and flat styles and a number of different woods can be used on discussion with the customer.

It comes in two sizes 4/4 (42"/106,6cm string) and large ¾ (41"/104,1cm string) to cater for the size of the player and the use of the instrument.
